A MESSAGE FROM DISTRICT GOVERNOR DAVID HARE
It is a great honor and privilege to serve you as District Governor for 2018-19. I am looking forward to visiting all 58 clubs in the District over the next few months and learning more about your club plans and projects. President Barry Rassin’s theme (“our” theme) for the year is “Be the Inspiration.” This is an exciting theme for all of us to live every day. I encourage you all to look in the mirror each morning and say “Be the inspiration.”
This year you will hear a new acronym which I hope you will take to heart. TWYRP stands for “Thanks for Wearing Your Rotary Pin.” I encourage you to wear your Rotary pin at all times - not just at your club meetings - and show everyone you are proud to be a member of our great organization.
I am very pleased that Jennifer Kendrick of the Charlotte - Dilworth South End Club is serving as our Newsletter Editor for 2018-19. Please send information to Jenny (firstname.lastname@example.org) about any special activities, milestones, etc., in your club so she can publish details in future newsletters.
To see our most recent newsletter on the website, please click on 'District Newsletters' under' Our District', for information about activities in our District and much more.
In the July 2018 issue, please check out the videos included in the link for the Rotary International Convention in Toronto. What a wonderful experience sharing fellowship and cultures with 25,000 fellow Rotarians from over 200 countries. I was fortunate enough to spend an evening with Rotarians from different clubs in Russia - a really educational and inspiring event.
Start making plans for the Rotary International Convention in Hamburg (Capture the Moment) next year to celebrate our year of inspiration!
Finally, mark your calendars for October 13 and the Duck Race for Polio. Plan to bring your family and friends for an afternoon of fun and activities. Details below and at bit.ly/duckraceforpolio.
I look forward to working together to “Be the Inspiration” in 2018-19.
Yours in Rotary Service,
