What Is Rotary?

Rotary International

www.Rotary.org

Rotarians are firm believers in the idea of “Service Above Self.”

Rotary is a global network of 1.2 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves. Solving real problems takes real commitment and vision. For more than 115 years, Rotary’s people of action have used their passion, energy, and intelligence to act on sustainable projects. From literacy and peace to water and health, we are always working to better our world, and we stay committed to the end.

Rotary Club

The heart of a local Rotary club is dedicated people who share a passion for service, both internationally and locally. A Rotary club is the basic unit of Rotary community activity. Most clubs meet weekly, usually at mealtimes on a weekday in a regular location. Rotarians discuss community activities, club business and hear from guest speakers. Each club also conducts various service projects within its local community and participates in special projects involving other international and local organizations.
