An absolutely HUGE shoutout to the Waxhaw-Weddington Rotary Club and their Herculean support of our Rotary District 7680’s Project RUSH (Rotarians Unite to Stop Hunger). This 14-county effort by many clubs in our District is in support of Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina as they celebrate their 40th birthday!
Today, the Waxhaw-Weddington Club facilitated 19 barrels of food being donated to Second Harvest, totaling almost 2500 pounds of much-needed foodstuffs. Waxhaw-Weddington provided the lion’s’ share of the donation with items provided by the Charlotte North Rotary Club and the Charlotte Dilworth Rotary Club.
A special thanks to District Governor Nico Iannelli, whose home club is Waxhaw-Weddington; Lisa Hilbish, Service Chair; Yorda Kidane, President-Elect; Larry Hook, Foundation Chair; and Christopher Brantigan who personally brought over 800 cans of beans today! Shoutout to PDG Tom Smith who brought out some food early on!
