On Sunday, October 24, the Shelby Breakfast Rotary club gathered at Hanna Park in Shelby to remember a very special friend, former Rotary President, and Distinguished Rotarian Bob Davis.
Club President Tony Fogleman presided over the ceremony where we dedicated two lovely wooden benches made by Burns High students. The benches are fitted with a plaque to honor Bob’s life and service and the Rotary Wheel. Club members recounted special ways Bob impacted our club, our lives, and our community through his dedication, friendship, and encouragement. Bob’s wife Wendi and his sons, Hobe & Cutter, were also present for the dedication. It has been a very difficult loss for them, but Wendi expressed her appreciation for the club’s continued support and for the memorial benches.
DG Nico Iannelli, Assistant Governor Justin Merritt, and Shelby Lunch Club President Peter Bagley were also in attendance.
