Nico IannelliRotary 7680 District Governor 2021-2022

Rotary Club of Waxhaw-Weddington

Nico is a Proud Rotary Geek, Executive Resource and a Foodie. Nico was born and raised on Long Island, N.Y.  Both of his parents immigrated from Italy. Growing up he saw the sacrifices they made by moving to the U.S. He was so grateful for all of the opportunities he had growing up, that it prompted him to enlist in the U.S. Army as a Combat Medic. Nico spent 10 years in the financial industry. Later, finding his passion in commercial insurance & risk management for the last decade. He is a Business Consultant at Marsh & McLennan – serving the risk prevention and commercial insurance needs of middle market companies in the United States.

After meeting Chuck DeMund, Nico became a member of The Rotary Club of Waxhaw-Weddington in 2010. He served as the Club’s President in 2014-15, District Membership Committee in 2016 and Assistant Governor for 2017-19. In December 2016, Nico chartered Rotary Means Business District 7680, which encourages Rotarians to support the success of their fellow Rotarians by doing business with them.  Additionally, he served as an Advisor for the engagement of Young Professionals for Rotary International’s Zone 33/34. Most recently, Nico is humbled to be the President & Flight Director for Queen City Honor Flight, Inc. (501c3). He continues the mission of the Rotary District 7680 Flight of Honor by recognizing the bravery and patriotism of our war veterans with a one-of-a- kind journey to Washington D.C. for a day of Honor-Thank-Inspire. Nico is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow of The Rotary Foundation, a Bequest Society member and member of the Paul Harris Society.

Nico received his Certification from the global leader in executive training, Center for Creative Leadership to facilitate Seminar for Tomorrow’s Leaders, a RYLA initiative for Rotary District 7680. The program has transformed the lives of students by delivering a research-based, empowering, leadership development program at the Charlotte Regional Universities.

Nico married his wife Christina on October 10, 2020 on the beaches of Oak Island, N.C.  He and his bride live in Waxhaw North Carolina-USA and together they have five kids he loves to call A2+B2+C:  Aiden (12) , Aubrey (11), Brayden (16), Blake Elizabeth (9) and Caroline Grace (9).

In his free time, Nico is happiest when he’s cooking for friends and family, trying new wines or helping in the community.

Kam Chandan, Rotary 7680 District Governor 2022-2023
Rotary Club of Lake Norman-Huntersville

Kamlesh (Kam) Chandan is an active and engaged member of Rotary Club of Lake Norman-Huntersville. Kam serves as Assistant District Governor for Rotary District 7680 serving clubs in North Mecklenburg area. He served as the Club President in 2016-17. That year, the club was awarded Best Small Club Award of Excellence, International Service Award and Club of Distinction in District 7680. He is a passionate Rotarian involved in service projects and grants benefiting our community, both locally and globally. He had the opportunity to lead the first inbound and outbound Friendship Exchange program for District 7680. Kam is a Paul Harris Fellow, Benefactor and a RLI graduate.

Kam earned his master’s degree in computer science and business minor’s in entrepreneurship from University of Southern California, Los Angeles. He is an innovative technology executive at Ally Financial, a leading digital financial services company. Kam and Divya are residents of Huntersville, NC. They are proud parents of two girls – Smera and Naisha. His extended family is as global as Rotary International living in United States, India, Australia, Austria, Scotland, Canada, United Arab Emirates and New Zealand. Kam’s family had the privilege of hosting four youth exchange students and building lifelong memories.

Debra (Debb) Corbett, Rotary 7680 District Governor 2023-2024 Rotary Club of Mecklenburg County-South

Debra (Debb) Corbett was born in Pasadena, TX on August 14, 1969. She attended Texas A&M University where she earned her BS degree in Psychology followed by an MS in Counseling from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.  Debb married her high school sweetheart, Bailey Corbett, in 1992 and they have three adult sons, Bailey, Kendon, and Chase. She and her family moved to the Charlotte area in 1999 and made North Carolina their home.

Debb is a second generation Rotarian following in the footsteps of her father. She began her Rotary journey in 2004 as a member of the Union West Rotary Club where she served as club president from 2007-2008 earning the award and honors of top small club in the district under her presidential tenure. She later joined the Mecklenburg County-South Rotary club in 2009.  She received the award of Distinguished Rotarian in both Union West and Mecklenburg County-South Rotary Clubs. She is a Multiple Paul Harris Fellow, Paul Harris Society Member, Benefactor, and RLI graduate. In 2012, Debb joined the inaugural group of District 7680 Mt. Kilimanjaro climbers raising awareness and funds for ending polio worldwide. Debb actively supported the Youth Exchange Program serving as a counselor for students and hosting YE students.

On the district level, Debb served as District Membership Chair, District Secretary, District Conference Co-Chair, District Governor Aide, and RYLA/SFTL Chair. Debb was recognized with awards for outstanding leadership in district membership in 2009 and youth services in 2016. Her primary focus, a role she began in 2010, is with the Rotary District 7680 RYLA initiative, Seminar For Tomorrow’s Leaders (SFTL), where she serves as chair and lead facilitator. Debb sees the future of Rotary growing through the seeds of youth services and Rotaract.

Currently, Debb is a leadership development consultant and mental health professional. She is a Certified Dare to Lead™ Facilitator helping organizations and teams achieve their leadership growth goals. Additionally, she works as an adjunct trainer with the Center for Creative Leadership. Prior to expanding her career into leadership training, Debb spent several years working as a professional mental health counselor in private practice.

Debb enjoys traveling, hiking, fine wine, spending time at their beach house, cheering for her favorite baseball player (aka, youngest son), and singing. Fun fact, Debb sang with a cover band for two years. She is a lifetime member of the Rotarian Wine Appreciation Fellowship.
